Binge Worthy Series: Resident Alien on Netflix

Ezekiel Diet Note: If you need a new series with 3 seasons and plenty of episodes to binge watch try Resident Alien on Netflix; if you haven’t seen it already. It’s filmed in a Dexter style (narrated by his thoughts) with a completely different comedy plot. It’s really funny in a quirky way.

The plot is about an alien dispatched to earth to release a canister that will extinguish all human life on earth. While entering imaginary Jesuit orbit in his imaginary Jesuit space ship he’s hit by lightning, loses an engine and the life-ending payload drops loose and falls in the snow, then crashes to earth.

The rest of the series is about this alien shapeshifting to look human and trying to fit in to this small town while searching for the missing life-on-earth-ending canister payload to complete his mission.

One pesky kid in town has the ability to see the alien instead of the shapeshifting human which creates amusing problems.

I don’t normally waste time watching Netflix or Prime. It’s something I try to do with the other half together every night for two or three hours.

Spoiler Alert: From the first 3 episodes I’m assuming the alien falls in love with a cute native American Indian female (who also feels alien) he meets in town and will abort the mission to extinguish all life on earth.

Based on the Dark Horse comic, Syfy’s Resident Alien is a murder mystery sci-fi dramedy that follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk (Rogue One, Firefly) that crash lands on Earth and passes himself off as a small-town human doctor. Arriving with a secret mission to kill all humans, Harry starts off living a simple life… but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world. As he does so, he begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and asking the big life questions like: “Are human beings worth saving?” and “Why do they fold their pizza before eating it?” Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley) and Levi Fiehler (Mars) also star as the residents of Patience, Colorado. Resident Alien’s release date is set for Wednesday, January 27 at 10 pm ET/PT on Syfy in the US.
